All Creighton affiliates, including faculty, staff, and students, who park a vehicle on property that is owned or leased by Creighton University at any time must display a current parking decal or temporary hangtag issued by Public Safety.
What about motorcycles?
Motorcycles parked near bicycle racks do not require a permit; however, motorcycles that take up a parking stall must display a current parking decal.
What if I forget to move my decal to the vehicle I drive that day?
You will need to either come to Public Safety to purchase a day pass for $5 or park on a public street.
What if I only come to campus in the evenings or on weekends?
Evening-only permits are available for no cost at Public Safety; these permits allow faculty, staff, and students to park in faculty/staff and student parking areas from 4 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday, and any time on weekends. The evening-only permit also may be used in patient parking areas during the hours listed below. The evening-only permit may not be used to park in visitor parking areas.
What about patient parking?
Faculty, staff, and students with Creighton permits may park in OT/PT patient parking under the BIC (Lot 87) from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday, and any time on weekends.
Faculty, staff, and students with Creighton permits may park in Dental Patient Parking (Lots 38A, 28, and 8A) from 5 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday, and any time on weekends.
How do I appeal a citation?
Citations may only be appealed online; no in-person appeals will be accepted. Appeals must be received within 7 days of the date the citation was issued. The appeal must present substantial evidence that the parking violation was not committed, or the occurrence was due to circumstances beyond the appellant?s control. The appeal process is not a venue for general criticisms, complaints or policy debates. The following reasons for appeal will not be considered:
Frivolous or abusive appeals, including the use of profanity
Late to class or appointment
Inability to pay the amount of the fine
Lack of available parking
Other vehicles were parked improperly or illegally
The vehicle was only parked illegally for a short period of time
Public Safety did not previously ticket for similar offenses
Appellant purchased a parking permit, but did not display it in the vehicle
