City of Omaha Fire and Police Departments

The Omaha Fire Department wants to keep you safe!

• Smoke detectors save lives. Tell your landlord that the Omaha Fire Department will install a free combination smoke/carbon monoxide detector for homeowners in the City of Omaha. To request a free smoke/CO detector, please complete the following form.
• You can use a Fire extinguisher to put out small fires until the Fire Department arrives. Even against small fires, however, extinguishers are useful only under certain conditions.

The Omaha Police Department provides many services for citizens including:

• Providing a Copy of a Police Report
• Background Checks
• Victim Assistance
• Permits

Additionally, please contact the OPD to report an incident, file a complaint or commend an officer.
